The Rising Site

Just finished putting together a new site for the guys at The Rising – who make awesome bamboo bikes! I’ll post some pics of my one on the blog soon.

The site is all a totally custom template, using wordpress as a cms so the guys at The Rising can update it all themselves whenever they need to (& they can even do it from their iPhones whilst on the road!)

Expect big things from The Rising (and the site) in the near future.

Just got linked to the trailer for Takeshi Koike’s new animated film (Lead animator on Ninja Scroll). Not sure when it’s due out over here, but it looks insane! Its all hand-animated too… none of that CG rubbish!

Croft Frame

Signature artwork for Niki Croft’s new frame.

I worked really closely with Niki on this one, as we were both keen to come up with something a bit different from the usual bike stickers that you see. He wanted it too look more like the artwork that would be found on a skate deck rather than a bike frame. We’re both really happy with how it’s turned out.

Northern surf trip…

Went on a little surf trip with my housemate last week. Slept in the van, ate junk food, hardly slept, but went surfing 6 times in 3 days. Here’s a couple of shots from Thursday morning when we first arrived. The swell kept on building so this was the smallest we saw it. Waves were super good (and most of the time we were the only ones in the water!) but super cold!

Federal Product Launch Party

Here’s some photos of the Federal Bikes 2010 product launch party that went down in May. I did a load of work for this one, including some giant 8ft boards for the show, which I worked on with Joe-Tek, that were essentially giant real-life versions of the print ads that I do for Federal. Joe & I art directed the show, which included bike placement/display, lighting setups, and basically anything visual for it. The whole show went down really well with a huge turnout. There’s a few reviews of the event online, and we made it into a couple of mags too.
